Privacy notice
What we do with your details.
We study how people behave, so we try to treat your information the way we’d want ours treated. This page says, in plain English, what we collect on this website, why, who helps us handle it, and how to have it changed or deleted.
The short version
- We only collect what you type into our two forms, plus anonymous visit counts.
- We use it to reply to you, or to send The Dispatch if you asked for it. Nothing else.
- We never sell or rent your details, and we don’t use advertising trackers or cookies.
- Email hello@humancentricco.com any time to see, correct or delete what we hold.
Who we are
Human Centric Co. is a research bureau based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, run by Stephen Baptist and Sherwin Carlose. For this website, we decide what personal data is collected and why, so under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the data fiduciary.
Questions or complaints about your data go to hello@humancentricco.com, and Stephen Baptist handles them personally.
What we collect and why
| When | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You use “Bring us a decision” | Your name, email, company (optional), your message, and the page or link that brought you to the site. | To reply to you, prepare for a first call, and understand which channels bring us enquiries. |
| You sign up for The Dispatch | Your email address, and when you confirmed or unsubscribed. | To send you one field note a week until you tell us to stop. |
| You visit any page | Anonymous, aggregated visit data: the page, the referring site, rough country, device type and browser. | To see which pages are useful. It uses no cookies and does not identify you. |
We don’t ask for anything sensitive, and please don’t send us more than you need to. We never use your details for advertising, and we never sell or rent them.
Your consent
When you send an enquiry, you agree to us using what you sent to reply to you. When you sign up for The Dispatch, we email you a confirmation link first. You’re only added to the list once you click it.
You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it. Use the unsubscribe link in any Dispatch email, or write to hello@humancentricco.com. Withdrawing doesn’t affect anything we did with your data before you withdrew.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: for as long as we’re talking or working together, then for up to 24 months so we have a record of the conversation. After that we delete them.
- The Dispatch: until you unsubscribe. We then keep only a note that you unsubscribed, so we never email you again by mistake.
- Visit statistics: kept by Vercel in aggregate form only.
You can ask us to delete your details sooner, and we will, unless the law requires us to keep them.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- delete it;
- stop using it, by withdrawing consent;
- deal with a complaint, which we aim to resolve within 30 days;
- act on behalf of someone you nominate, if you are unable to.
Email hello@humancentricco.com from the address you used with us. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
The site runs entirely over HTTPS. Our email is sent from a verified domain. Only the two of us read what you send. No system is perfectly secure, but if something ever went wrong we would tell you, and the authorities, as the law requires.
Children
This website is meant for adults making business decisions. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we’ll delete them.
Research participants
This notice covers the website only. If you take part in one of our studies, we explain what we record and how it’s used, and ask for your consent, before we begin. What we publish, such as our Field Notes, is anonymised.
Changes and contact
If we change how we use your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For anything else, write to hello@humancentricco.com.
